This will be the best Christmas for your cat

Christmas and holidays mean a lot to us, but what about our furry friends? Knowing how cats are energetic and curious, it is no wonder they enjoy holidays as much as we do.

When Christmas comes around, our homes get filled with numerous attractions, such as bright lights, decorations, trees, and yummy treats.

We are bringing a short list of all the positive aspects and beautiful gifts for cats that will make your favorite pet the happiest during the holidays.

    Cats like Christmas trees

Cats like Christmas trees because they love climbing trees and are naturally attracted to anything new and shiny. Therefore a Christmas tree decorated with glittery ornaments looks fascinating to them.

Christmas trees, we must all admit, are so exciting. Your cat thinks the same. And not only that, you brought something new into your pet's territory. Cats love to investigate new things; while the tree looks familiar, it also brings in outdoor smells and has branches for scratching. Of course, scratching and pulling the tree down should not be an everyday activity for your cat.

But you can't blame the cat for wanting to play with so many dangling and shiny things, can you?

Tricks for protecting Christmas tree and your cat

Place the Christmas tree on a stable stand. If you have a natural Christmas tree, protect the soil in the pot with a cover. Additives from the ground that keep the Christmas tree alive contain sugars that are inviting to cats. Christmas tree decorations are shiny, exciting, and tempting, but glass can hurt a cat’s paws. Try to hang sparkly ornaments high on the tree and those larger and unbreakable near the bottom.

We all love Christmas lights but so do cats. It is likely to happen that the cat starts nibbling on electrical cables. This is why leaving a cat alone in a room with lights is never a good idea.

    Cats love being around people

Although it is not easy to read cats' body language and avoid making some of the common mistakes, cats do like to spend time with their owners.

Especially when you are the chosen one, your cat's favorite person, it will seek out your company during the cold holiday time.

Cats know that people are trustworthy and will find you quite attractive. Prepare yourself to spend more time with your pet - quality time full of cuddling and joy.

Now you can't say you were not prepared for the holidays. Maybe your cat has no expectations from you, but spending  extra time with your furry friend will be as fun for it as it will be for you.
